A YouTube Channel Can Completely Change Your Life – It Changed Mine
If we haven’t met before – Hi, my name is Jacob 👋
I started my first YouTube channel in 2014 while studying economics at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense.
I started with 0 views, 0 subscribers, and 0 revenue. I knew absolutely NOTHING about how to film, edit, or publish videos on YouTube, but after watching hundreds of tutorials, I figured out the basics.
It was quite a challenge to grow my channel in the beginning.
I had a full-time study program, workouts, social life, etc., which took up a lot of my time,
so there wasn’t a ton of time left for YouTube…
But I quickly realized that a profitable and sustainable YouTube channel could give me all the freedom and flexibility I was looking for…
By the time I graduated with a Master’s in Entrepreneurship and Management, I had a channel with over 250,000 subscribers and was making more than DOUBLE what I would have earned in an entry-level job as an economist.
So I chose to go full-time on YouTube (which I was way more passionate about) instead of taking a job as an economist.
A couple of years later, I now have over 800,000 subscribers, over 2.5 million DKK in revenue, and I’ve started my own consulting business where I help people like you achieve the same kind of results on YouTube that I’ve had myself.
Looking back, it all feels pretty wild…
I went from being a student who didn’t really feel like I fit in, to now running my own business and having all the freedom I could ever dream of.
I actually look forward to Mondays (of course, there are bad days no matter what you do),
but I get to work with my small team and do what I love every single day.
And on top of that, I get messages daily from my followers telling me how my content has made a huge difference for them and their singing skills, which is amazing!
And I now make more in one year than I would have in five years as an economist.
I know… it’s pretty insane.
So it’s safe to say that YouTube completely changed my life.
And I truly believe that if you take it seriously and learn how to grow your channel in a sustainable way, then YouTube can change your life too.
